Jeff Gburek – Sprites + Persian Dub Synergies + Raw Radio Captures from Feb 28, 2026

The latest album by Jeff Gburek has quite a story behind it.  From his Bandcamp site:

“This an album containing three albums. Three swung in a swirl. Three moments of attention framed by the different kinds of time and listening horizons. Sprites is about ephemeral ionospheric lightning such as you see in the photo. A poetic evocation or invocation of something rarely seen. The instruments are VLF radio, Shortwave radio, Synthesizers, kick-drum, “zen: chimes, tapes and other spices flung in on the electr0-acoustic fly. Persian Dub Synergies came about, using the same instrumentation, some days later after yet another invasion you can gather nuts about and digest in your own time. Some of the gossip about the events shared over the radiophonic spectrum are included as raw files recorded on February 28 late night my time or the morning after. As always, with reverence for the Earth, whose atmosphere provides us this capacity for signal bounce as a reminder of all one love one heart.

Listening to these tracks as I hit the publish button makes me happy that the internet exists and that we have this possibility to experience distant multiplicities almost as if quantum entangled. Long live the listening ears, as many as you can have.“
