穆拉特·謝力扎提 Murar Sherizat – Küy Guitar:三粒谷 Three Grains Valley

From the Modern Sky World Music Bandcamp site:

“From 2008 to 2015, Murat served as the principal guitarist for the Philharmonic Orchestra in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Following this, he was invited to compose music in Xi’an, China. In October 2019, Murat recorded his classical guitar album titled “Küy Guitar: Three Grains of Grain” in Chengdu. This album was released on the Modern Sky World Music label in the fall of that year.

Today, Murat has defined his musical style as “Küy Guitar.” The term “Küy” refers to traditional Kazakh instrumental music. Interestingly, the Chinese translation of “Küy” means “energy” or “ability.” Murat’s classical guitar work is deeply rooted in Kazakh musical traditions, utilizing Kazakh techniques to enrich his compositions. He adapts well-known dombra songs and folk music for classical guitar while also creating original pieces for the instrument.”
