Hell’s Enemy – Hymns Of Eternal Victory

I know that Black Metal isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and of all days, Holy Saturday, why would I post such a beastly thing?  I have my reasons, dear reader.  Hell’s Enemy is from the American freak-friendly state of Washington, where so many good weirdo bands hail from, and they do not, in fact, produce Black Metal.  Rather, their scene, Unblack Metal, is Christian, and I would even venture to say Orthodox in nature, despite the artist being openly Roman Catholic.  What led me to this band is that today, in our Church calendar, not only marks Holy Saturday but also an event known as the Harrowing of Hell, something that my Catholic friends used to celebrate but have forgotten about, and that my Protestant friends generally have no clue about.  One of the songs of this album bears that title, and it led me to check out the rest of the album.  It’s badly recorded, but that seems to be the modus operandi of most black metal bands.  An Apostolic Christian recording such an album is worthy of support.
