“Diossoulo released his debut single, “Sunken Ceiling.”
It is the solo project of Pradio Manggara Putra, mastermind of the Indonesian rock unit, IGMO. Last year, IGMO released their second album, ‘Absurd, Artificial, Potential’.
“I love to daydream while staring at my ceiling. In that space, I can imagine many things, especially concerning life,” Dio explains.
“For instance, how long will I live? I often wonder if my time in this world will be shorter than I imagine,” he adds. “Meanwhile, the things I face require a vast amount of time and an infinite lifespan, whether it’s for thinking, feeling, and taking action.”
“This project is deeply personal to me,” Dio continues. “It’s a space for things I can’t always fit into the context of IGMO.”
“Sunken Ceiling” is an acoustic-driven track elevated by stirring ambience. Dio took a DIY approach to the debut: handling writing, production, recording, mixing, and mastering himself.
“On the production side, I was assisted by my friend Gab as co-producer, engineer, and guitarist,” says the artist, who cites Nick Drake, Iwan Fals, and AC/DC as core influences.
The single serves as a precursor to Diossoulo’s upcoming full-length album, titled ‘Dream Like Holy Cowards’.”
