I can think of few record labels who so lovingly press their vinyl reissues like WewantSounds does. We’re thrilled to announce that they have republished Yadokari, a sublime work by Meiko Kaji, perhaps most well-known in America as one of Quentin Tarantino’s musical muses, but who wowed Japanese audiences with her sultry voice and acting abilities during the 1970s. From the label’s press release of these platters:
“Wewantsounds continues its extensive Meiko Kaji reissue program-inpartnership with Teichiku Records and Kaji herself-with the release ofYadokari, her third album from 1973. This marks the first time the albumhas been reissued on vinyl, featuring its original artwork and newlyremastered audio. Renowned for her iconic 1970s films (LadySnowblood, the Stray Cat Rock series) and admired by QuentinTarantino, Meiko Kaji also released a string of outstanding albums onTeichiku, blending Japanese pop with cinematic grooves.
