We haven’t heard from Jeff Gburek in a while, but he offers quiet and meditative field recordings on his latest release. From his Bandcamp site:
“Recordings made near the town of Grindu in Tulcea County, Romania (maps.app.goo.gl/roAuvvtzmLvmM2a48) on July 22 of 2025 and the 44 minute album might be called Day in the Life of a Grindu Pasture. In the pinned track called Previews you will hear my spontaneous sound-walk narration with its multiple mispronunciations and slacker grammar while we walk along the elbow of the Danube for a peculiar soundscape and some imminent dramatic weather shifts. Headphones help the listener. The tracks are not edited nor treated in any way except for trimming the tails and making some fades in and out. Otherwise it is sonic realism, naive, pure, impure. Out there in the field.”
