Rodney Orpheus is a name that I had long forgotten about, but I’m more than pleased to hear what he is up to! Decades ago, he fronted one of the most legendary EBM bands, the Cassandra Complex out of Belgium. They were pure hard dance music, and by the 1990’s, it seemed like they had vanished. Rodney continues to make music, and this album is a reissue of one he did in 1995, perfectly remastered and full of punch to it. This disc is more of a tribal affair, sounding in some places like you are participating in some dark mass at one moment, then being followed up by the sort of sound that relates well to pure African tribal fusion. Think of a more electronic Drummers of Burundi in parts. Quite a little masterpiece, this one!
