My old friend Mustafa Stefan Dill, a man whose work I once compared to a more metallic John McLaughlin (I still stand by that, and even more so these days) has a new project he is working with. Love Unfold The Moon is his latest band, with him on flamenco guitar, which is intriguing to hear in a free jazz setting, backed by Ash Mattia on violin, Ben Wright on bass, and Thoreau Rodriguez on drums. You can hear what sounds like Arabic scales along with flamenco, wonderfully improvised.
