La Création du Monde (The Creation Of The World) (1984), 72’38

— First movement, “Lumière noire” (Black Light) premiered at the 1983 Acousmatic Cycle, 104 Studio of the French Maison de la Radio in Paris on 31st January 1983. The integral version was premiered at the 1984 Acousmatic Cycle, 104 Studio of the French Maison de la Radio in Paris on 14th May 1984. —

“It was not Genesis according to the Bible, much too anecdotal, that inspired my itinerary, but rather scientific and para-scientific books by Hubert Reeves, Carl Sagan, Robert Clarke, Steven Weinberg, that gave me the main markers. The words that describe astrophysical phenomenon are incentive enough to stimulate our musical imagination and feed this world’s reverie. Nothing is more exciting for it than a paradoxical acousmatic vision of the Creation of the World.”
