Zbigniew Preisner – Effroyables Jardins

Quoting Wikipedia, “Zbigniew Preisner is a Polish film score composer, best known for his work with film director Krzysztof Kieślowski. He is the recipient of the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis as well as the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He is a member of the French Film Academy.”  I recently discovered this soundtrack, which I had never encountered before. Since I’m not familiar with the film, I can’t comment on how well the score fits with it. However, I can say that the music is dramatic and deeply emotional, showcasing Preisner’s unique style. The Australian record label A Colourful Storm is responsible for the release, and they have done a great favor for soundtrack enthusiasts by reissuing it on both vinyl and digital formats.
