    Roon or Audirvana and Why

No post today and possibly tomorrow due to catching a case of bronchitis, but as I heal, I thought I’d spend the weekend comparing the virtues of using Roon or Audivarna.  Both have great interfaces for playing your digital music collection.  Audivarna has access to better sound quality, but Roon seems to have a cleaner interface to work with.  I’ll give this until late February, when my three-month trial ends for Roon, to make a decision. You can read more at the Headphones.com forum on the topic.

    Audirvāna

No post today thanks to being under the weather, but I did want to recommend an app for those of you who like streaming your digital music files with a bit-perfect player.  I started using Audirvāna a month ago, and it’s made a huge difference in terms of listening quality.  It’s a bit pricey, and I opted to buy the app outright, but the sound quality is worth the price.

[Article] New CD-Vinyl Hybrid Format For Audio Unveiled

Happy Mother’s Day to the readers of MYNTH! As there are no reviews scheduled today, we instead link to a rather interesting article over at The Quietus, where legendary bluesman T-Bone Burnett has launched a company showing off a new hard media format he calls Iconic Originals, a format which blends the best parts of CDs and LPs together. I’ll have to see if it lives up to the hype, but the format is surely worth exploring.  Sadly, the company doesn’t have a website presence yet.
