Reverse Image – Éclipse Dissonante (FMOA Audio Postcard Series)

From our friend Reverse Image, who offers this 18-minute sound collage:

“Reverse Image (Y’ng-Yin Siew) is a sound artist from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She builds her works using a hybrid of analogue and digital tools, with which she explores the intersection between repetitive motifs and moments of discontinuity. Her debut solo album, “The Silence That Does Not Exist”, was released in mid-2023, the second solo Reverse Image album called “Towards the Nocturnal Sun” released in 2024 and her fiery intense industrial / noise project called Fallen Sun had its “Beyond the Flat Earth” album released in early 2024. In miid-2024, she and I collaborated on the “Tokokawa” album of avant-electronics (also available on these Bandcamp pages, wink wink). She also founded and curated the Mirror Tapes label from 2010-2011.

…”Éclipse Dissonante” presents a kind of dense sonic foliage that one can easily get lost in. In this case, though, the act of getting lost is encouraged, as this is where the magic is. Plenty of surprises are in store once your initial impressions contend with phantom images of the sounds actually recorded – a kind of audio “fata morgana” as it were.

Stunningly dark listening.  This seems to be part of a series
