Even though I can be slow to respond, thanks in part to being a one-man operation since the departure of my old friend and partner Steven Shore (RIP), it is nice to come across emails which turn me on to music I would have otherwise not been able to discover. Rand are one of those pleasant surprises.
This particular release has four tracks, all recorded elegantly in their way, but it is track #2, San Gimignano _ remixed by Deadbeat, which held my attention the strongest. It sounds like a much more cleaned-up version of experimental music I used to listen to in my youth. The rest of the tracks are danceable, but not in a cheap techno sort of way. There’s a grace to the music, and I heartily recommend giving this a listen (as usual, with headphones) so you can hear how well spaced everything sounds.
